I had a tinker earlier today whilst waiting for sump to drain and thought it might have been easier by clearing some space from pipes in the way. I noticed that there are a few other 10mm bolts in that area, but it's hard to see what is connected to what and which EXACT bolts are needed to come off. I have located it (at the back right of the engine, looking at it from front with the plastic top and the electrical plug connected (yes?)) and noted 2x10mm bolts that connect it to a flange and breather pipe back to the inlet pipes again. The problem I have is that I am REALLY struggling to get the valve off. I joined the site to get some help and help out others where I can as you guys seem ace at helping each other out. (Although this could me being frugal with it.)īeen having a look on the forums the past few weeks to get an idea of what causes bad fuel consumption and a lot of posts point to the EGR valve becoming clogged up with carbon. ![]() Just changed the oil and filter and noticed a slight improvement in MPG. Hanging around 46/47mpg mark, and being the 6 speed box, thought it should be higher as I do a lot of motorway miles and cruising about 60-70mph (as we all should do anyway  ) Not been impressed with the fuel consumption on my Mondeo MK4 2.0 TDCI.
